The Hiawatha trail was definately one of the coolest adventures we've been on since we moved to Washinton. My friends Leslie and Rachel and I packed up 7 kids, 7 bikes, 2 trailers and a tag along and drove a couple hours through Idaho to the Montana border. From there we biked 12.5 miles down a beautiful trail that used to be a railbed. The scenery was amazing. The kids all did really well. Jamesey, (the fireman pictured above) who is 4, biked the whole thing and was ready to keep going when we got done. We made several pit stops along the way to turn on headlights for tunnels, read the signs, and have a picnic lunch. At the bottom of the trail we climbed aboard a yellow school bus for a bumpy ride back to our car. Then drove back to spokane making a pit stop at Dairy Queen.
