Speed trip to Seattle

This last weekend I took a quick trip accross the state to Seattle. I had a blast! I met my friend from high school Jenny there and we had a great time being tourists. We went to a cool scrapbooking store, PF. Changs, walked by the space needle. We also explored Pikes market. An interesting place to smell with a mix of fresh flowers, produce and seafood all wafting around in the air. I bought a bundle of fresh basal for a dollar that smelled so great in my bag all day. I am envious that this half of the state has tulips and daffodills blooming already.

While in town we just happened to find out that the Bodies Exhibition was going on. I had heard about this before and wanted to get a chance to see it. I guess some people would not enjoy looking at cadavers converted to plastic, but I found it fascinating. Having done dissection before, I could not believe how inticate the specimens were. The human body is amazing and I love learning more about it.
Special thanks goes to Jed for watching the girls while I was gone. I have such an awesome husband! While I was out he took the kids to the park, watched the Tinkerbell movie and kept the house standing. Great job!

A sunny day

What a beautiful day. It got up to 63 degrees in the afternoon. You would hardly believe it is supposed to be winter. We went for a stroll by the Spokane River. The girls loved chucking rocks into the river and probably could have stayed there for hours until every rock big or little was in the water.

Conversation with Liz

Today I flipped over our new couch and was putting little felt circles on the bottom so it wouldn't scratch the wood floors. While I finished sticking the last circle Lizzy says "Mom, that's a little bit beautiful!"

Finding beauty in simple things is a talent that kids have.

Me: "Liz, how old are you?"
Liz: "Six"
Me: "You're not six, you're three"
Liz: (with a exasperated face) "Mom, Noey's three, I'm six"

They grow up so fast.

The 3 year old perspective

Mom: Noey let me help you fix your shirt because it is on inside out.
Noelle: No, mom, I do it. Kids don't like help. Kids want to do it by themselves.
(Noelle puts her shirt on right side out but backwards)
Noelle: See Mom!

Yes, Noelle I see. Kids these days.

Later in the day she got on the bathroom scale and said "Wow! 3 dollars!"
Then she got off the scale and attempted to pluck her eyebrows with a bobby pin.
What a funny girl.
